Effect on Society
Musicians are treated as idols in American society and influence a great number of people. Female musicians have a great effect on the young female population. Females that allow themselves to be influenced by these artists often try to obtain attention through the wrong means. Instead of trying to interact with men through traditional methods, some females try to impress men through ways that are looked down upon by society.
Plastic surgery has also grown in popularity as popular demand for sex appeal has risen. Plastic surgery is expensive and everyday women sometimes try unsafe practices just to obtain this level of beauty and subject themselves to disease or even in some cases death.
Female musicians are also partially responsible for the myth that girls only want the “gangster” or “thug”. Females that do find themselves wanting to get involved with men that don’t abide by social norms often find that its not all that its cranked out to be. Not all gangsters are abusive, but it should not be a surprise when a violent member of society steps out of line. No woman deserves domestic violence of any sort, but if they allow themselves to be influenced by music that glorifies the gangster lifestyle they increase their chances of becoming a victim.
